ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State-Abington scored a goal in each half to knock off Penn College 2-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Lions stayed perfect in the NEAC at 7-0, 9-6 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 6-10-1, 3-4-1.
A defensive miscue led to Abington's first score in the sixth minute, while the Lions' defense held the Wildcats to just two shots – both blocked – to lead 1-0 at halftime.
Abington made it 2-0 early in the second half with a goal in the 47
th minute and its defense limited PCT to four shots – three off frame – and
Joe Dreese's attempt in the 89
th minute that was saved.
The Lions outshot Penn College 18-7 and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks.
