WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College fell to Susquehanna University 1-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match Tuesday. The River Hawks improved to 10-1-1, while the Wildcats dropped to 3-6-1.
The match was incredibly even throughout with both teams defenses having strong nights. The game was deadlocked 0-0 at the half. Susquehanna broke the tie in the 59
th minute who Emily Sullivan's header found the back of the net.
The Wildcats had a golden opportunity to tie the game in the 76
th minute but
Hailee Hartman's shot was saved by the River Hawk goalie and
Dominique Brown's rebound was blocked by a SU defender.
Susquehanna and PCT were even statistically 8-8 and a 3-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Taylor Gonzalez stopped one shots in goal for Penn College.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 3 p.m. at home vs Wilson College on Homecoming.
