WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College snapped a two-game skid with a 1-0 win over Wilson College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference divisional crossover match Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 5-7 overall, 3-1 NEAC, while the Phoenix fell to 4-4-1, 2-2.
Penn College netted the game's lone goal in the 20
th minute when
Ian Scheller headed in a rebound shot from
Chris McFarland's header attempt that hit the post. The Wildcats had another clean look at the goal in the 25
th minute but
Mike Gonzalez' header attempt hit the post.
The Wildcats failed to put a shot on frame in the second half, while PCT keeper
Malcolm Kane was busy with seven of 10 saves in the final period.
Wilson outshot Penn College 17-8 and held a 5-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 12 p.m., hosting Lancaster Bible.
