WILKES-BARRE – Penn College went 0-3 at the New York/Pennsylvania Duals hosted by Wilkes University Saturday. The Wildcats fell to Hunter College, 36-18, had a 42-9 setback to Cortland, and dropped a 52-6 decision to New York University.

Against Hunter,
Penn College surrendered 24 points to four forfeits and won three of six contest bouts via fall. Christian Fox trailed 5-3 late in the second period before decking his opponent in 5:09. Daniel Bergeron was behind 11-3 in the third before rallying with seven straight points in a 13-10 setback.

Jared Mooney overcame a 6-3 first period deficit before earning a fall in 4:43 and Dylan Otis made quick work of his opponent with a fall in 1:03.

Against Cortland,
Joe Swank battled in a high-octane bout, earning a 17-12 decision and totaling five takedowns. Penn College picked up its other six points with a forfeit to Otis at heavyweight.

Against NYU,
Otis earned the Wildcats lone win when held a 2-0 lead in the first period, with 2:32 of riding time, before his opponent withdrew with an injury.

Penn College returns to action Saturday at the Muhlenberg Duals.
