GLENSIDE, Pa. – Arcadia used a strong first half to knock off Penn College 70-47 in a non-conference women's basketball game Friday. The Wildcats fell to 1-1, while the Knights improved to 1-1.
Gwendolyn Lavelle and Cassi Kuhns both had a game-high 17 points for the Wildcats and Christine Limbert grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.
Three players reached double-figures Arcadia, led by Camille Menns' 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Penn College got off to a slow start and trailed 25-7 after the first quarter, before the Knights took a 44-18 lead into halftime. The Wildcats outscored Arcadia 14-12 in the third and 15-14 in the final quarter.
Penn College netted 22 points in the paint and score 10 off turnovers.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 2 p.m., hosting Westminster.
