READING, Pa. – Penn College did what it does best in the postseason – winning shootouts. The Wildcats edged SUNY Poly 4-3 in shootout to advance to its first North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer championship game.
Penn College will take on Penn State Berks, 2 p.m., Sunday.
Taylor Gonzalez stopped two Poly attempts before
Jane Herman belted in the winner in shootout after 110 minutes produced a 1-1 deadlock.
Following a Gonzalez stop,
Hanna Williams connected on her PK and Gonzalez stopped the second Poly attempt. Christiana Webber buried her shot and
Olivia Murgo followed
Hailee Hartman's high shot to keep PCT ahead by one when netted her attempt.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Penn College pulled even with Poly in the 52
nd minute when
Tiffany Brown found Hartman, who knocked it in the bottom right corner, to deadlock the match at 1-1.
Penn College missed a few chances to take the lead late in the half. PCT had a ball cleared off the line in the 63
rd minute before an offside in the 79
th negated a Hartman score.
Neither team fired off a shot in the first overtime, while Penn College managed two wide shots in the second overtime.
Poly outshot Penn College 18-14 and held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Gonzalez stopped seven shots in goal for Penn College.

Penn College has played in five NEAC playoff games in three years and is 0-2-3 – advancing in shootout once last season and twice in this year's postseason.
