ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley College scored 19 runs in the second through fifth innings en route to a 19-7 win over Penn College in a non-conference baseball game Friday. The Dutchmen improved to 1-0, while the Wildcats fell to 0-1.
Nathaniel Lowe and
Ben Flicker led Penn College at the plate by combining for five of the Wildcats nine hits. Lowe went 3 for 4 with two runs, from his leadoff spot and Flicker went 2 for 3.
Bradley Walter took the loss after two innings of work with six earned runs on six hits.
Max Bair and
Trevor Dolin were nearly perfect in the final three innings, with Bair striking out a pair, one walk and zero hits, and Dolin fanned four with no walks or hits.
Penn College went ahead 1-0 in the first inning after Lowe turned a leadoff single to right into a run on a wild pitch after
Cole Hofmann's single moved Lowe to third.
The Dutchmen tacked on six runs in the second, five in the third, and four in both the fourth and fifth innings to lead 19-1.
The Wildcats added a run in the seventh when Flicker's RBI single to right plated
Eli Warren to make it 19-2 before PCT exploded for five runs in the eighth. An error and hit by pitch plated a pair of runs for the Wildcats before
Noah Esposito cleared the bases with a single to center to make it 19-7.
