Grove City, PA – Penn College and Grove City played a closely contested match today which Grove City coming away with a 3-1 victory. The two sides played to a 1-1 tie in the first half. The score remained that way until the 84
th minute when Blake Baer broke the tie with a goal. The Wolverines added one more goal in the 87
th minute to give them the 3-1 victory.
Penn College opened the scoring on the day when Matt Hibbs scored his first goal as a member of Wildcats in the 24
th minute. Hibbs goal was assisted by
Seth Bilbie. Grove City tied the game up in the 42
nd minute with a goal from Justin Lind.
Brendan Skwirut turned away five shots on goal for the Wildcats, while Malcolm Blake stopped two of the three Penn College shots.
The Wolverines outshot Penn College 14-10 while PCT held a 5-3 advantage on corners.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 6p.m., at home against Keystone College.
