Williamsport, PA - Penn College dropped a 2-0 decision to Keystone College in a non-conference men's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-3, while the Giants improved to 1-2.
The Giants were able to break through in the 29th minute when a Keystone attacker was taken down inside the 18 yard box resulting in a penalty shot. Talhah Netherlin converted the penalty try to give Keystone a 1-0 lead. The Giants padded their lead in the 44th minute when Kahdim Thiam found the back of the net right before half time.
Penn College had a number of opportunities to score throughout the game but just could not convert. The Wildcats put five shots on goal in the first half and had a number of other opportunities including a controversial no call in the box that would of given Penn College a penalty shot just minutes into the game.
Keystone held a 12-10 advantage in shots and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
Hunter Gosnell stopped six shots in goal for Penn College, while Steven Heintz Jr finished with seven saves for Keystone.
Penn College returns to action Friday, 7 p.m., hosting Delaware Valley.
