Wildcats Stay Unbeaten in NEAC; Down Wells 2-1

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the first time in program history Penn College is 2-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference after dealing Wells College a 2-1 setback in men's soccer action Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 4-5 overall, 2-0 NEAC, while the Express fell to 1-5-1, 0-1.

The Express struck early in the first half when Junger Vargas netted a shot to the right in the 15th minute. The Wildcats answered two minutes later after Ian Scheller's serve from the left side was deflected to Austin Dowrick, who buried the ball to the left of the goalie. It was Dowrick's team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Quinn Cleis netted the eventual game-winner in the 83rd minute after Greg Dorsch's serve from the right side was one-touched into the back of the net.

Penn College outshot Wells 20-14, while both teams had six corner kicks.

Malcolm Kane stopped two shots in goal for Penn College, while Owen May picked up five saves.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Cazenovia.
