Wildcats Fall to Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 79-46 decision to Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell 0-4 NEAC, 1-11 overall, while the Chargers improved to 6-0, 8-7.

Cassi Kuhns led Penn College with a team-high 15 points, on 6 of 10 shooting.  Gwendolyn Lavelle added nine points for PCT, and Jane Herman and Tori Wolfe both finished with eight. Herman pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

Kristen Webster led all scorers with 23 points for Lancaster Bible, Caitlin Hickey added 18, while Courtney Goyak finished with 15.

Trailing 24-10 after the first quarter, Penn College outscored the Chargers 19-9 in the second quarter to trail at the beak, 33-29. Penn College erased a 16-point deficit, 28-12, with 17-2 run, to pull within one, 30-29, on an Aniah Ellerbee layup with 57 seconds left. Herman paced the run for Penn College with six points.

Penn College got as close as two, 33-31, on Kuhns' layup early in the third but LBC answered with a 25-4 spurt to end the quarter ahead 58-35.

The Wildcats return to action Sunday, 2 p.m., at Wilson College.
