YORK, Pa. – Penn College split a pair of wrestling matches at a tri-meeting hosted by York College Saturday. The Wildcats knocked off Penn State Mont Alto, 36-12, before falling to the host, 48-9.

Against Mont Alto,
Christian Fox built up a 12-5 lead at 141 before decking Brandon Jackson in in 6:20 to even the match at 6-6. After the teams traded forfeits, and a no contest at 165, the Wildcats swept the final four matches.

Nicholas Bruce built an 8-2 advantage, via takedown, a reversal, and for near fall points, before picking up a pin in 2:42 at 174. Ty Gardener was dominate by taking a 14-0 lead, with a takedown, and three sets of four-point near falls, before earning a fall in 1:24. Patrick Ostowsky made it 30-12 with a fall in 2:56, after a 10-0 lead, and Dylan Otis picked up a forfeit at heavyweight.

Against York,
Fox trailed 6-0 in the second period before picking up a pin in 4:35 to tie the match at 6-6. The Wildcats surrendered four straight forfeit to make it 30-6.

Bruce and Jared Mooney fell via pin at 174 and 197 before Otis earned an 8-1 win at heavyweight, with three takedowns, a stalling point and riding time.
