WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College played to a 1-1 double-overtime draw to Juniata College Wednesday in a non-conference men's soccer match. The Wildcats sit at 4-5-2, while the Eagles went to 4-7-3.
Following a scoreless first half,
Matthew Yoder gave Penn College a 1-0 lead when he cleaned up a deflected ball in the box and deposited it to the back of the net in the 55
th minute. Juniata evened the game with five minutes left in the contest when Joe Stipe knocked in the ball in the 85
th minute.
The Wildcats had a chance for the game-winner in the 88
th minute but
Colton Wartman's header on frame was saved by a defender.
Penn College managed one shot on goal in the second overtime but
Vance Gradwell's attempt in the 100
th minute was saved.
The Eagles outshot Penn College 14-8 while the teams were even in corner kicks with six each.
Brendan Skwirut stopped two shots in goal for Penn College.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 3 p.m. hosting Morrisville.
