AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College knocked off Wells College 5-2 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats improved to 8-2 NEAC, 11-5 overall, while the Express fell to 2-8, 3-12.
Penn College tacked on a pair of goals in the first half, with
Kaelan Cronan finishing a pass from
Tiffany Brown in the 20
th minute and
Adeline Gesford burying a 16-yarder in the 30
th minute. Wells added a score in the 24
th minute to make it 2-1 at the break.
Francesca Timpone scored on a Brown pass in the 51
st minute and she later assisted
Kaitlyn Raup's score in the 71
st minute to put Penn College ahead 4-1. After Wells made it 4-2 in the 82
nd minute, Cronan scored her 15
th goal this season on a breakaway in the 87
th minute.
The Wildcats outshot Wells 27-9 and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
Taylor Gonzales (2 saves) and
Charlee Marshall (2 saves) combined for four saves for Penn College.
The Wildcats return to action Wednesday, 4 p.m., hosting Juniata College.
