WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 2-0 decision to Penn State Berks in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Friday. The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season at 8-3 NEAC, 11-7 overall, while the Lions improved to 10-0-1, 13-3-2.
Penn College secured either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed in next week's NEAC playoffs and will host an opponent still to be determined on Tuesday.
Berks maintained possession for the majority of the opening half but only managed one score in the 22
nd minute. The Lions had 17 shots in the opening stanza but
Taylor Gonzales (15 saves) turned away eight of Berks' nine shots on frame.
The Lions made it 2-0 in the 59
th minute and limited Penn College to just one shot (high) in the final period.
