WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College suffered its first North Eastern Athletic Conference defeat with a 1-0 setback to Cazenovia College in Saturday's women's match. PCT fell to 7-3 overall, 5-1 NEAC, while Cazenovia improved to 10-4, 7-0.
After a scoreless first half, Caz struck in the 69
th minute when Michaela Breeze ripped a shot from the 18 to give Cazenovia a 1-0 lead.
Penn College missed on two opportunities late in the first half when
Dominique Brown's shot on an open goal was cleared off the line by defender Carmen D'Agostino in the 33
rd minute, and
Kaelan Cronan's breakaway attempt in the 37
th minute when over the crossbar.
Cazenovia outshot PCT 11-6, while Penn College held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Taylor Gonzales turned away six shots in goal for Penn College.
PCT returns to action Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Lancaster Bible.
