WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College finished 2-2 at the Lycoming College Duals Monday to improve to 8-4. The Wildcats knocked off both King's, 33-11, and Pitt-Bradford, 35-5, before falling to Muhlenberg, 35-18, and Lycoming, 50-0.
Against King's,
Gavin Link evened the match at 3-3 with a 6-1 decision at 141 and Makeela Fabrizo's 2:24 pin at 157 gave Penn College a 9-3 advantage. The Wildcats picked up four more forfeits the remainder of the match.
Against Pitt-Bradford,
Christian Fox put Penn College on the board with a 1:47 pin at 133 before
Colin Jens' 10-7 decision at 141 made it 9-0. Following a forfeit at 149,
Jesse Walker picked up a 12-6 win at 157,
Daniel Bergeron earned a pin in 2:40, and Colin Brown earned a 13-5 major decision at 174.
The Panthers picked up a forfeit at 184 before
Jared Mooney won 6-4 at 197 and
Jonathan Pineda picked up a major decision at heavyweight.
Against Muhlenberg,
Penn College earned six bonus point wins against the Mules. Fox had a 3:46 pin at 133 and Walker earned an injury forfeit at 149, while the Mules forfeited at heavyweight.
Against Lycoming,
Penn College lone highlight against the Warriors was
Dylan Otis' 2-1 setback to No. 6 ranked Garrett Wesneski at heavyweight. After a scoreless first period, Otis picked up a point with a stalling point in the second before Wesneski evened the match with an escape in third and earned an additional point for riding time.
Penn College returns to action Jan. 5 at the North-South Duals hosted by Ursinus.
