WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College watched a nine-point halftime lead slip in away as Bryn Athyn outscored the host 37-18 in the second half to earn a 63-53 win during Saturday's North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game in Bardo Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 4-7 NEAC, 7-13 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 1-9, 2-17.
Ben Sosa and
Jesse White both notched double-doubles for the Wildcats. Sosa netted a game-high 14 points and pulled 12 rebounds, while White finished with 10 points and a game-best 14 rebounds.
Rahim Washington led Bryn Athyn with 13 points, Drew Heller netted 11, and Larry Stevenson and Lamarr Crenshaw both finished with 10.
Deadlocked at 17-17, with 8:26 remaining in the opening half, the Wildcats went on an 8-2 run and led 25-19 after
Ryan Lockman's layup with 4:37 on the clock. Bryn Athyn rallied to take a 26-25 lead before PCT answered with seven-straight points and led 32-26, on
Erik Perry Jr.'s layup with 1:36 before the break. The Wildcats led 35-26 at halftime.
Bryn Athyn opened the second with a 14-5 run to tie the game at 40-40 with 12:03 left in the game. Following two more ties, the Lions separated from a 44-44 draw with 9:05 left with a 7-0 run and did not trail the remainder of the contest.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 11 a.m., hosting Penn State Berks.
