WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College outscored Penn State Berks 54-45 in the second half en route to a 90-83 win in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Sunday in Bardo Gymnasium. The Wildcats improved to 2-8 NEAC, 3-16 overall, while the Lions dropped to 2-9, 2-17.

Ben Sosa earned his second consecutive double-double, and third this season, with a game-high 21 points and a game-best 10 rebounds. Robert Young Jr. finished with 17 points, Jesse White pumped in 16, Spencer Bartron knocked down 13, and Erik Perry Jr. added 12 for Penn College.

Matt Seip led Berks with 20 points, Dave Polisano added 15, and Nelson Hine and Robbie McHugh both scored 11.

Penn College opened the game with seven straight points before Berks answered with a 14-0 run to take a 14-7 advantage with 15:09 before the break. The Lions led by as many as nine, 18-9, with 13:41 on the clock and were up 27-20 with 7:23 left. Penn College evened the game, 29-29, on a Bartron three with 5:20 remaining, which led to two more deadlocks before Berks led 38-36 at halftime.

Penn College opened the second half with a 10-0 spurt and led 46-38 on a Sosa jumper two minutes into the second half. The Wildcats led by as many as 13, 58-45, on a Young layup with 14:54 left in the game, before Berks pulled within three, following a 14-2 run.

The Lions pulled with one, 78-77, with 2:44 left in the game but a Young layup and a White slam with 24 seconds left put PCT ahead 86-79. Sosa iced the game going 4 for 4 from the line in the final 11 seconds.

Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Wells College.
