Wildcats Split with LVC

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College split a non-conference doubleheader baseball game against Lebanon Valley College Sunday at Logue Field. The Dutchmen won the first game 5-1, before the Wildcats took the nightcap 7-3.

Penn College improved to 4-6.

In game two,
Penn College exploded for six runs – five coming with two outs – in the second inning to set the tone.

Eli Warren's walk, and singles from Deric Ellerman and Noah Esposito, loaded the bases for PCT with one out. Nathaniel Lowe's sacrifice fly to right scored Warren to give PCT a 1-0 lead. Alex Zelger brought home two runs with a single to right and Cody Cline's single center plated Zelger to make it 4-0. Ben Flicker's double to right scored Cline before an error plated the sixth run for Penn College.

The Wildcats made it 7-0 in the fourth when Richard Lennon's single to left brought in Flicker – who singled.

LVC added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Flicker and Ellerman both finished with two hits for Penn College.

Max Bair improved to 1-1 after six innings of work. He allowed one run, on five hits, with three strikeouts and three walks.

In game one,
The Dutchmen scored two runs in the first and second inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Wildcats got a run back in the third when an error plated Zelger. LVC added its final run the in the fourth.

 Flicker led Penn College with two hits.

Cody Nelson fell to 0-1 after 4.2 innings. He allowed five runs (three earned), allowed five hits, struck out five and walked four.
