KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Penn College dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference softball games to Keuka College Friday. The Wildcats fell to 2-4 NEAC, 8-14 overall, after identical 9-2 setbacks to the Wolves.
In game one,
Penn College took an early 2-0 lead in the third inning on RBI singles from
Taylor Krow and
Taylor Brooks. Keuka evened the game in the bottom of the inning, and scored seven unanswered runs after that.
Morgan Heritage fell to 4-5 after five innings of work. She allowed seven runs (four earned) on six hits, with seven strikeouts and five walks.
In game two,
Keuka struck first with three runs in the third inning, before Penn College pulled within one with two in the fourth inning. Brooks smacked a double to right field to plate
Mikenna Lyons and
Kylie Shreiner's fielder's choice brought home Brooks.
The Wolves added three runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
Krow and Brooks led Penn College at the plate with two hits each.
Kassie Winters fell to 1-3 after 4.2 innings. She allowed six earned runs, on six hits, with four walks.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting SUNY Cobleskill.
