Wildcats Edged by St. Elizabeth

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a pair of one-run games to College of St. Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Saturday. The Wildcats lost 4-3 in the first game, and dropped the second game, 2-1, and fell to 4-6 NEAC, 10-16 overall this season.

In game one,
The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before Penn College took the lead with a two-run fourth.

Chelsa Gray's double in the fourth plated Kassie Winters before Elizabeth Asher singled home Gray to make it 2-1. CSE added two in the fifth before Gray's second double scored Alyssa Gentile in the sixth to even the game at 3-3.

The Eagles stole the game in the seventh by stealing home and Penn College couldn't move a run home in the bottom of the seventh.

Gray, Gentile, and Kylie Shreiner all picked up two hits for the Wildcats.

Kelsea Dangle fell to 1-2 after relieving Winters (4 IP, 1 ER, 3Ks, 4 BB) in the fifth. She allowed three earned runs, on three hits.

In game two,
Penn College went ahead 1-0 in the fourth when Maddie Wenk scored on an error.

Morgan Heritage fell to 5-6 after a complete-game. She allowed two runs, on three hits, with 11 strikeouts, and four walks.
