WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College fell in a non-conference softball doubleheader Thursday and dropped to 11-19. The Wildcats lost 7-2 in the first game and 3-2 in the nightcap that went eight innings.
In game one,
Lycoming took a 5-0 lead with one run in the third and four in the fourth. Penn College got a run back in the fifth when
Morgan Heritage scored on an error and a
Laycee Clark stole second.
The Warriors tacked on a run in the fifth and sixth, while PCT picked up a run in the sixth on
Alyssa Gentile's RBI single to right.
Taylor Krow led Penn College with two hits, while
Morgan Heritage fell to 5-4 after five innings of work. She allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits, with four strikeouts and four walks.
In game two,
Penn College took an early 2-0 lead with two runs in the first inning. Gentile knocked in Krow before
Chelsea Gray's sacrifice fly to center plated
Taylor Brooks.
Lycoming tied the game in the third and scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Kassie Winters fell to 1-2 after a complete game. She allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits, with three strikeouts and four walks.
Penn College returns to action Saturday at SUNY Poly.
