READING, Pa. – Penn College dropped a North Eastern Athletic Conference softball doubleheader to Penn State Berks Sunday. The Wildcats fell to 2-2 NEAC, 8-10 overall after an 8-0 loss in game one and a 6-1 setback in game two.
In game one,
Berks scored two runs in the second inning, three in the third, and three in the sixth and held PCT scoreless on just two hits.
Kassie Winters picked up the loss for Penn College after 2.1 innings of work. She surrendered five runs on six hits, with one strikeout and three walks.
In game two,
The Lions scored three runs in the second, one in the third, and two in the sixth. Penn College brought in a run in the seventh inning after
Alyssa Gentile's single led to an error and plated
Chelsea Gray.
Taylor Krow and
Kylie Shreiner led Penn College at the plate with two hits each.
Morgan Heritage fell to 4-4 after six innings in the circle. She allowed six runs on eight hits, with four strikeouts and four walks.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 3 p.m., at Susquehanna.
