Penn College Strikes Early, Beats Poly

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College found the net twice in the opening half as the team emerged victoriously in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday over SUNY Poly.  PCT improved to 3-2 NEAC, 3-5 overall, while Poly fell to 2-3, 3-2-3.   
 
The Wildcats struck first with a goal from Colton Wartman in the 2nd minute of the game.  The Wildcats kept the pressure on as Devin Leister scored on a pass from Wartman in the 25th minute, before the Wildcats went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. 
 
SUNY Poly increased the intensity with 5 shots in the second half, but the Penn College defense stood strong, as Hunter Gosnell notched his 3rd win and first shutout on the season with 3 saves.
 
SUNY Poly outshot Penn College 8-7, while PCT held the advantage in corner kicks 4-3. 
 
Penn College returns to action Tuesday, Oct 2, when they host non-conference foe King's College.
