Wildcats Fall to Abington in OT

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a nail-biting 3-2 decision in overtime to Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-2 NEAC, 0-4 overall, while the Lions improved to 1-0, 2-2.

Penn College struck first in the 37th minute when Chris McFarland buried a free kick to the left side of the net to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Seth Bilbie made it 2-0 in the 47th minute when he headed in a pass from McFarland.

Abington chipped away at Penn College's lead and benefited from a handball call in the 66th minute, which led to Jose Palomeque converting the attempt. David Panea scored the equalizer in the 73rd, which forced overtime and led to the game-winner from Sebastian Perkowski in the 93rd.

Abington held a 17-11 advantage in shots and 9-4 in corner kicks.

Brendan Skwirut stopped five shots in goal for Penn College.

The Wildcats return action Sunday, 2 p.m., at Pitt-Greensburg.
