WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a nail-biting 3-2 decision in overtime to Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-2 NEAC, 0-4 overall, while the Lions improved to 1-0, 2-2.
Penn College struck first in the 37
th minute when
Chris McFarland buried a free kick to the left side of the net to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Seth Bilbie made it 2-0 in the 47
th minute when he headed in a pass from McFarland.
Abington chipped away at Penn College's lead and benefited from a handball call in the 66
th minute, which led to Jose Palomeque converting the attempt. David Panea scored the equalizer in the 73
rd, which forced overtime and led to the game-winner from Sebastian Perkowski in the 93
rd.
Abington held a 17-11 advantage in shots and 9-4 in corner kicks.
Brendan Skwirut stopped five shots in goal for Penn College.
The Wildcats return action Sunday, 2 p.m., at Pitt-Greensburg.
