Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Penn College traveled to King's College for a non-conference men's soccer match Tuesday evening. The Wildcats offense fizzled out as they lost the match 1-0. Penn College dropped to 1-7-1, while the Monarchs improved to 8-2.
How it Happened: The first half was a defensive battle as both teams failed to reach the scoreboard. Going into halftime with the score tied 0-0, the Wildcats looked to find the answer.
The Monarch's took advantage when they drew a corner kick in the 68
th minute. After the crossed ball was fought over by both teams, the ball found the back of the net, and the Monarch's took a 1-0 lead.
Inside the Box: King's held the offensive advantage in total shots, 20-1, and corner kicks, 8 to 3.
Daniel Jackson led the Wildcats attack with 1 shot on goal.
Joshua Stanley turned away 6 shots on goal for the Wildcats, allowing 1 goal, and
Braeden Eckard turned away 4 shots.
Outside the Box: The Penn College men's soccer team faced a formidable opponent Tuesday evening at King's College. The Monarch's, riding a seven-game win streak before losing last Saturday, looked to bounce back on an injury-stricken Wildcats team.
