COBLESKILL, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill scored a goal in each half to knock off Penn College, 2-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats fell to 1-4-2 NEAC, 1-10-2 overall, while the Tigers improved to 5-1-1, 7-4-2.
How it Happened: Penn College came out strong offensively with five shots in the opening 10 minutes, with
Chris McFarland's attempt getting cleared off the line in the ninth minute. Cobleskill capitalized on a shot in the 31
st minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
A handball call in the first minute of the second half against the Wildcats led to Cobleskill's second score, and the Tigers withstood seven second-half shots by Penn College.
Inside the Box: Cobleskill outshot Penn College 18-15, while the Wildcats held a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Joshua Stanley turned away five shots in goal for Penn College.
