WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College battled Lancaster Bible College to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday in front of a large Homecoming crowd at UPMC Field. The Wildcats are 1-2-2 NEAC, 1-7-2 overall, while the Chargers are 3-1-1, 7-2-2.
How it happened: Greg Conkle's corner kick in the 69th minute found Colton Wartman to give Penn College a 1-0 lead, a lead it held until the final minute of the match. Chad Tolson finished off Kedric Yoder's corner with 48 seconds left in the game to send the match to overtime.
The Chargers fired two shots on frame in the first overtime and held PCT to zero. LBC had six shots in the second overtime, while Penn College managed two, with Wartman's going wide in the 109th minutes, while Matthew Yoder's attempt was stopped with 24 seconds left in the game.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot LBC 14-9 in regulation, but the Chargers ended with a 19-17 advantage. LBC held a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.
Braeden Eckard picked up 10 saves in goal for the Wildcats.
Outside the box: Wartman picked up his team-leading fourth goal of the season, and team-best 10th point. Conkle notched his second assist of the year.
"We're still trying figure who we are and how to finish off games," PCT coach Tyler Mensch said, after his team's second tie of the season.
