Wildcats Fall in OT

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College lost 112-105 in overtime in a nonconference men's basketball game Sunday. The Wildcats went to 1-2 overall, while the Broncos improved to 2-1.

How it Happened: After trailing by eight points at the half, the Wildcats took their first lead at 66-65 with 14:45 to go in regulation and they led by as many as four at 93-89 before Delhi's pressure defense forced a couple of turnovers on inbound passes and it scored six straight to lead 95-93. Penn College sent the game into OT when Mason Bossert of Myerstown hit a pair of foul shots with 1.3 seconds left. In the OT, Delhi broke on top and held on.

Inside the BoxFred Young led Penn College with 25 points, Elijah Vazquez scored 16, Ryan Lockman 15, Garvis 13 and Bossert 11. Jordan Fragale led five Delhi players in double figures with a game-high 28 points. Sosa topped the Wildcats with 10 rebounds.

Outside the Box: "I thought we played a much better game today. That is a testament to the strength of character of the young men we have on our team this year," coach Geoff Hensley said. "After a tough loss (Saturday), they were able to respond in a positive way today. We still need to learn how to finish games in the last few minutes and valuing the possession. For now, it's back to the drawing board to see what is working and what's not in order to have a different outcome the next time. The unfortunate thing is we don't have much time as we have three games in a span of six days. But that's what makes college basketball so exciting!"

Up Next: Penn College returns to the court Thursday, 7 p.m., hosting Alvernia University.
