SELINSGROVE, Pa. – St. Elizabeth used a strong fourth quarter to deal Penn College a 64-53 loss in a non-conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-3, while the Eagles improved to 3-2.
How it Happened: Penn College trailed 14-6 with 4:39 remaining in the fourth before Penn College went on an 8-0 run to even the game at 14 on
Madison Klock's free throw with 1:49 on the clock. CSE added a late bucket to lead 16-14 after the first. The Eagles led the entire second quarter and went into the break with a 31-28 lead.
Penn College tied the game three times in the third quarter, with the final deadlock occurring on
Maci Ilgen's layup with 5:43 left to make it 35-35.
Cassi Kuhns' layup with 16 seconds on the clock pulled Penn College within one, 43-42, heading in the final quarter.
Makaya Shadle's free throw with 5:58 left in the game tied the game for the final time, 46-46, before CSE used a 14-4 run to pull away down the stretch.
Inside the Box: Kuhns led Penn College with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Klock finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Ja'Quela Dyer grabbed nine rebounds.
Four players finished in double figures for the Eagles, led by Rakiya Sellers' game-high 20 points.
