CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – Penn College overcame a five-point halftime deficit to knock off Cazenovia College, 93-91, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Sunday. Penn College improved to 3-20 overall, 2-12 NEAC, while Cazenovia fell to 12-11, 8-6.
Elijah Vazquez scored a game-high 28 points for Penn College,
Trey McCullough added 16,
Spencer Bartron and
Carson Garvis both finished with 15, and
Anthony Deitrick pumped in 11. Vazquez finished with a team-high 11 rebounds.
Raishun Richardson led four Cazenovia player that reach double figures with 18 points.
After trailing 50-45 at halftime, Penn College used a 15-5 run to open the second half and take a 60-55 lead on a
Matthew Salvent layup with 14:56 left in the game. Cazenovia answered with 14-3 run in two minutes to lead 69-63. The game was deadlocked five more times, the final one coming with the score knotted at 86-86 with 2:03 the clock. A
Ben Sosa layup and Vazquez three put Penn College ahead 91-85 with 1:22 on the clock and PCT held on the for the win.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 8 p.m., at Penn State Berks.
