KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Penn College snapped a five-game losing with a crucial 9-4 win over Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 4-2 NEAC, 6-14 overall, while the Wolves fell to 3-3, 8-13.
Penn College took an early 5-0 lead with two runs in the first and three in the second.
Cole Hofmann, Conner Burke,
Alex Flicker, and
Richard Lennon all brought in run in the first two innings, before Keuka pulled within two, 5-3, after the fourth.
A hit-by-pitch, and
Samuel Zeigler's sac fly, in the fifth made 7-3 and Burke smacked a two-run single in the sixth to give PCT a 9-3 advantage.
Flicker picked up four hits for Penn College, while
Alex Zelger, Lennon, and
Ethan Ketterman finished with two hits each.
Bradley Walter fired five innings and improved to 1-0 after allowing three earned runs, on five hits, with one strikeout and one walk.
Trevor Dolin earned his first save with a four-inning closing performance.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Penn State Berks in a rematch of last year's NEAC Championship.
