WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –
Rylan Whitmyer drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 11
th inning to lift Penn College an 8-7 win over Mount Aloysius in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 7-17, while the Mounties fell to 23-9.
Richard Lennon reached on a fielder's choice in the 11
th and moved to third after walks to
Brayden Lippert and Conner Burke, setting up Whitmyer's patience at the plate.
Penn College took an early 4-0 lead in the second inning with RBIs from
Christian Perna and
Brittan Kittle, and
Alex Flicker's two-run single to center. The Wildcats made it 5-0 in the fourth when Flicker brought in Kittle with a single to left.
MAC evened the game in the fifth with five runs before Kittle's two-run single to left in the sixth put PCT ahead again, 7-5. The Mounties added a run in the seventh and tied the game in the eighth.
Kittle finished with four hits for Penn College, while Flicker, Burke, and Perna all picked up two.
Penn College had nine pitchers in the game, with
Andrew Gilbert picking up the win after firing the last two frames. He allowed no hits, no walks, and struck out three.
