Wildcats Sweep Bible; Win Seventh-Straight Game

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College swept Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Tuesday. The Wildcats won the first game, 4-0, and needed five innings in the nightcap to win 10-2.

Penn College improved to 10-4 NEAC, 18-12 overall.

In game one,
An error by LBC in the first gave Penn College a 1-0 lead, while singles by Taylor Krow, in the fourth, and Elizabeth Asher and Maddie Wenk, in the fifth, made it 4-0.

Krow led Penn College at the plate with two hits.

Morgan Heritage improved to 6-7 after a complete-game shutout. She scattered two hits, struck out eight, and walked one.

In game two,
Penn College evened the game in the bottom of the first on Gray's sacrifice fly to center, and made it 3-1 in the second on a wild pitch and Shayla Bickle's bunt single.

After the Chargers got a run back in the top of the third, Penn College exploded for six in the bottom of the third. An error scored two runs, a passed ball another, Asher's single plated one run, and Bickel's two-run triple to left made it 9-2.

Gray homered to left field in the fourth to make it 10-2.

Bickel led Penn College at the plate with two hits.

Kassidy Svenson improved to 5-1 after three innings of work. She surrendered one run, on three hits, with one strikeout, and two walks.

Penn College recognized eight players that play their final home games Tuesday. Chelsea Gray, Kylie Shreiner, Laycee Clark, Emily Wikane, Asher, Wenk, Brooks, and Krow.

Penn College returns to action Friday, 3 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
