SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Penn College fell in a pair on non-conference softball games against Susquehanna University Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 11-12 after losing 16-4 in the first game and 8-2 in the second contest.
In game one,
SU took a 13-0 lead in the top of third inning before Penn College put two on the board in the bottom of the third with RBIs from
Olivia Hemstock and
Kiana Lukoskie. The River Hawks tacked on three in the fourth, while the Wildcats added a run in the fourth and fifth on RBIs by
Gillian Sinnott and
Chelsea Gray.
Hemstock led PCT at the plate with two hits.
Morgan Heritage fell to 3-6 after 2.2 innings, allowing seven runs (six earned), on seven hits, with one strikeout and three walks.
In game two,
The Hawks jumped out to 5-0 lead through two innings, before
Kylie Shreiner singled in Penn College first run in the third. SU made it 6-1 in the fifth before Shreiner brought in the second run in the fifth, and the Hawks added on two more runs in the sixth and seventh.
Hemstock and Shreiner both picked up two hits for the Wildcats.
Kyla Benner fell to 4-3 after four innings in the circle. She allowed six earned runs, on 10 hits, with two strikeouts, and zero walks.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Cazenovia.
