Wildcats Edged by Harrisburg in NEAC Opener

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg scored two second half goals to knock off Penn College, 2-1, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-4, 0-1 NEAC, while the Nittany Lions improved to 4-3, 1-0.

How it Happened: Daniel Jackson gave Penn College an early lead when he buried a pass from Greg Conkle in the eighth minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. PCT held that lead for the next 60 minutes of the match until the Lions netted the equalizer in the 68th minute, and the go-ahead score in the 81st minute.

Inside the Box:  Penn College managed just four shots in the game, but three were on target, while Harrisburg fired 12 shots and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Brendan Skwirut stopped four shots in goal for Penn College, while Nicholas Guglielmett turned away two for the Lions.

Outside the Box:  Jackson scored his first goal of the season for Penn College, and Potts picked up his first assist this season.

This was the first-ever NEAC contest between the two teams, as Harrisburg returned to the conference after several years in Capital Athletic Conference.

Up Next: Penn College returns to the pitch Sunday, 5 p.m., hosting Shenandoah.
