WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College fell 2-1 to Shenandoah University in a non-conference men's soccer match Sunday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats dropped to 0-5, while the Hornets improved to 3-4.
How it Happened: Penn College took a 1-0 lead in the 28
th minute when
Josiah Potts' pass found the head of
Colton Wartman, who knocked it in the bottom right corner.
SU netted the equalizer in the 55
th minute and the go-ahead score in the 62
nd minute.
Inside the Box: The Wildcats had two quality shots on frame, after SU scored the go-ahead score, but attempts from
Kevin McFarland and Potts were both saved.
Penn College outshot the Hornets 14-6, while SU head a 7-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Braedan Eckard stopped three shots in goal for PCT, while Michael Romeo turned away five for the Hornets.
Outside the Box: Penn College dropped its fourth one-goal of the season, and the second consecutive contest that it had a 1-0 lead.
Wartman and Potts both lead Penn College in goals (2) and assists (2) this season.
