Penn College Dominates Alfred State for First Win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Tiffany Brown recorded a hat trick to help Penn College knock off Alfred State, 5-1, in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats picked up their first win and improved to 1-3-1, while the Pioneers fell to 0-3-1.

How it Happened:  Dominique Brown scored in the ninth minute off a deflection in the box to give Penn College a 1-0 lead, before Tiffany Brown deposited a Dominique Brown pass at the top of the box to make 2-0 in the 17th minute.

Tiffany Brown struck again the 47th minute when capitalized on a failed clear attempt by an Alfred State goalie to make it 3-0, while the Pioneers finally got on the board in the 52nd minute to make it 3-1.

The Brown's connected again in the 84th minute when Dominique sent a pass from the right of the box and Tiffany one-touched it to the back of the net to give Penn College a 4-1 advantage. Kaelan Cronan netted the final score for Penn College in the 87th minute.

Inside the Box: Penn College's offense fired early and often with a 32-11 advantage in shots, while each team had five corners.

Taylor Gonzales stopped four shots in goal for Penn College, while two keepers combined for 12 saves for the Pioneers.

Outside the Box: Penn College matched its season goal total in Sunday's game with five goals. Tiffany Brown recorded her first career hat trick and scored in consecutive games after tallying a score Saturday. Cronan, playing in just her second game, picked up her first score this season.
