ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State Abington scored two second half goals to knock off Penn College 3-1 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Nittany Lions improved to 2-2 NEAC, 3-4 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 1-7, 1-3.
How it Happened: After Abington scored in the first minute of the game, Penn College evened the match in the 42
nd minute when
Cole King finished off
Greg Conkle's pass.
The Lions added the go-ahead goal in the 73
rd and padded their lead with a score in the 79
th minute.
Inside the Box: Abington outshot Penn College, 13-6, and held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks. The Lions defense allowed just two shots on goal, while its offense put eight on frame.
Braeden Eckard turned away five shots in goal for Penn College.
Outside the Box: King scored his first collegiate goal. Abington is the two-time defending NEAC champions.
