ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn College scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 win over Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 2-2 NEAC, 3-4-1 overall, while the Nittany Lions fell to 0-4, 2-7.
How it Happened: Penn College opened up the scoring in the 20
th minute when
Tiffany Brown found
Kaelan Cronan to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Francesca Timpone added to PCT's lead in the 64
th minute with an unassisted tally.
Inside the Box: Penn College out shot Abington 14-11, while corner kicks were even at 3-3. The Wildcats had seven shots on target, while the Lions managed just three.
Taylor Gonzales finished with three saves in goal for Penn College.
Outside the Box: Timpone, a defender, scored her first goal this season, while Cronan picked up her second. Gonzales earned her second shutout win this season.
