Late run lifts King's over Penn College men
 
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Penn College lost 72-64 in a road nonconference men's basketball game Thursday. The Wildcats went to 2-7 overall, while the Monarchs improved to 6-3.

How it Happened: After Penn College led by 12 points at 49-37 with 12:51 left in the game, King's staged a comeback that included a 10-0 run over the final 1:40 to pull out its win. Penn College was 0 for 1 at the foul line during the contest while King's was 15 of 21. The Wildcats had 52 rebounds to 40 for the Monarchs.

Inside the Box: Elijah Vazquez led Penn College with 24 points while Carson Garvis chipped in with 22 points and 14 rebounds and Ben Sosa added 11 points. Tyler Faux and Kevin Hunter each scored 13 points for King's.

Outside the Box: "I'm very proud of how we competed tonight. We led for 37 minutes and played some really good basketball. I thought we played some of our best 'team' basketball on the season. Coming back from holiday break is always challenging, but this was a great test for us to get us ready for conference play quickly approaching," Wildcats coach Geoff Hensley said, adding, "Carson and Elijah gave us a big offensive spark tonight while Ben and Brody (Baker) were our steadfast leaders on the court. Our defense was solid contesting their 3-pointers and dominating the glass. We need to continue to work on taking care of the basketball and learning how to finish games. But it's a fun group of guys to coach and I am very excited to get back in the gym with them."

Up Next: Penn College is at Pitt-Greensburg at 5 p.m. Tuesday in a nonconference game.
