WASHINGTON, D.C.. – A key three-pointer by
Madison Klock in the final two minutes helped lead Penn College to an 85-80 win over Gallaudet in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats improved to 6-16 overall, 3-11 NEAC, while the Bison fell to 9-14, 7-7.
How it Happened: Deadlocked at 76, with 1:56 left in the game, Klock drained three to give Penn College the lead before
Makaya Shadle's layup countered a bucked by Gallaudet to make it 81-78 with 1:25 on the clock. The Wildcats went 4 of 6 from the line in the final 90 seconds to ice the win.
Penn College surrendered an 11-point halftime lead and trailed by eight, 67-59, with 1:09 left in the third before ending the quarter with threes from
Tori Wolfe and
Lydia Albert to head into the fourth down by two.
The Wildcats separated from a 22-22 tie early in the second with a 20-5 run to take its largest lead, 42-27, on a
Cassi Kuhns layup with 1:51 left before the break and held a 44-33 halftime lead.
Inside the Box: Klock led Penn College with 20 points, Albert finished with 16, and Kuhns added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Keyona Shoff pumped in 11 points,
Tori Wolfe contributed 10, and
Ja'Quela Dyer grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and scored nine points.
Emelia Beldon scored a game-high 26 points for the Bison.
