AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College concluded its season with a 71-43 win over Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats finished 7-17 overall, 6-10 NEAC, while the Express fell to 0-25, 0-16.
How it Happened: Penn College separated with a 6-6 deadlock with 6:22 left in the first, with a 7-0 run and a 13-6 lead on
Ja'Quela Dyer's layup with 4:09 left. The Wildcats led 20-11 at the end of the quarter. PCT quickly built a double-digit lead in the second and led 39-22 at halftime.
Penn College outscored Wells 32-21 in the second half.
Inside the Box:
Lydia Albert led the Wildcats with 17 points,
Cassi Kuhns added 15, and
Tori Wolfe finished with 10. Dyer finished with seven points and a team-best 10 rebounds.
Outside the Box: "Looking back on this season, I'm extremely proud of each individual for buying into the program. Without the individual commitment, we wouldn't have succeeded as a collective," Penn College coach
Britni Mohney said.
"To look at the stat line today and have almost everyone score; you can see the team form. I'm thankful as a coach to have a team that wants to improve and be coachable. Moving forward, I am excited to see how we improve in the offseason to soar to higher limits next season.
