WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College dropped a 59-52 decision to Carlow University in a non-conference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-3, while the Celtics improved to 4-5.
How it happened: Penn College led 7-1 early on a pair of Rachel Teat free throws and 12-9 after one quarter. Carlow fought back to take its first lead at 16-15 in the second period and was on top 28-24 at the half. The Wildcats closed to within two early in the third on
Ja'Quela Dyer's layup to start the second half before the Celtics went up by as many as nine and ended the quarter ahead, 44-36. In the fourth frame, Carlow led by as many as 16 points.
Inside the box: Teats led Penn College scored a game-high 25 points for the Wildcats, on 6 of 15 from the field and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Megan Ost led Carlow with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
