LANCASTER, Pa. — Penn College men's and women's tennis teams dropped their season-opening North Eastern Athletic Conference matches Saturday at Lancaster Bible College by scores of 2-7 and 4-5, respectively.
How it happened: The Lancaster Bible men won five of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches. In women's action, the Chargers took four singles matches and one doubles match.
Inside the box: Tucker Phillippe-Johansson won at No. 1 singles for the Penn College men, 6-1, 5-7, 10-8 (tiebreaker), and teamed with
Jesse Kight for an 8-7 (10-8 tiebreaker) win at No. 1 doubles. For the Penn College women, Georgia Leitzel won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-4, and
Marcie Harman won at No. 6 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 13-11 (tiebreaker). In doubles, Georgia Leitzel and
Alexis Youse won at No. 2, 8-2, and
Amber Leitzel and Harman won at No. 3, 8-1.
