WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College men's and women's tennis teams both lost their North Eastern Athletic Conference matches at Penn State Harrisburg Sunday by scores of 4-5 and 0-9, respectively. The Wildcat men fell to 0-3 and the women to 1-2.
How it happened: The Penn State Harrisburg men took four of six singles matches and one of three doubles matches. In women's action, the Lions dominated in both singles and doubles.
Inside the box: Tucker Phillippe-Johansson won for the third time this season at No. 1 singles for Penn College, 6-4, 6-3, and
Daniel Gianelle won at No. 5 singles, 2-6, 6-2 (6-0 tiebreaker). In doubles for the Wildcat men, Johansson and
Jesse Kight scored an 8-1 win at No. 1 and Gianelle and Tommy Cavanaugh won, 8-7 (7-3 tiebreaker), at No. 3. For the Penn College women,
Marcie Harman had the most competitive match at No. 5 singles, falling, 3-6, 2-6.
