AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College won a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup on the road at Wells College on Saturday, 18-12. The Wildcats improved to 3-1 on the year while the Express dropped to 0-6.
How it Happened: The Wildcats reached the scoreboard on a score from
Daniel Jackson to take 1-0 lead. Wells would fight back and eventually take the lead 4-3 heading into the second quarter. Penn College would respond by tallying five scores in the second quarter to take a 8-6 halftime lead. Jackson added two more quick scores to start the third quarter to increase the Wildcats' lead to four.
Stephen Lepore and
Danny Harkins added to the lead before Wells responded, but the Express could never get closer than three goals to the Wildcats.
Quinn Caviola added the final two scores for the Wildcats in the fourth quarter as they went on to win 18-12.
Inside the Box: Jackson paced the Wildcats offense with ten points, on seven goals and three assists. Harkins added four goals, while Lepore and Caviola tallied three apiece, and
Nathan Hugo added one.
Andrew Gobbi improved to 3-1 between the pipes with 12 saves.
Penn College was 21-32 on faceoffs and 14-of-14 on clears.
Outside the Box: With the win, the Wildcats extended their winning streak to three in a row.
