SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Penn College dropped men's and women's tennis season-opening matches at Susquehanna University in nonconference action Saturday, both by 8-1 scores.
How it Happened: Susquehanna won all six singles matches and two of three doubles matches as it improved to 2-0, while River Hawks women won five singles and all three doubles matches while improving to 2-0.
Inside the Box: Tucker Phillippe-Johansson and Paul Langbein picked up the lone Penn College point with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles while Alex Norris and Jesse Kight had a very competitive match at No. 2 doubles before falling, 8-6.
Delaney Bouton earned the lone Penn College win at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0 in the women's match.
Up next: The Wildcats host Misericordia University on Wednesday.
