ALFRED, N.Y. –
Kaelynn Sheetz netted a second half goal to propel Penn College to a 1-0 win over Alfred State in a non-conference women's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 3-3, while the Pioneers fell to 4-2.
How it Happened: Sheetz broke a scoreless deadlock when she deposited
Kristina Mease's pass in the 50
th minute.
Penn College had three shots turned away in the first half as two attempts from Sheetz and one by
Abby Williams were stopped.
Inside the Box: The Wildcats outshot Alfred, 12-7, while the Pioneers held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Nicole Lichtinger picked up her first collegiate win with six saves in goal for Penn College.
